what to do in disneyland in one day vs california adventure
Since we've written about Disneyland, nosotros tin can't forget nearly Disney's impressive little sister park next door, Disney California Run a risk. It doesn't require quite every bit much time to explore as the Big Mouse Trap simply it'southward well worth a two-day park hopper ticket cost. My best communication: Get see Disneyland Park first. And then the next day, see Disney California Adventure. Probably by afternoon you'll feel like you "did" the whole park, and so skip dorsum over to Disneyland to see what you missed the first solar day and and then in the evening caput back to California Adventure for the Earth of Color closing ceremonies.
As a native Southern Californian, here are my best recommendations. Please feel free to disagree with me or add your own suggestions in the comments section.
Buena Vista Street (Practice IT)
Like Disney World, Disneyland California Adventure has a main street, Buena Vista Street. Except this main street has a very distinct Southern California/Sometime Hollywood experience to it. Make sure y'all check out the windows at Big Stone Candy Mountain and if you're needing a drink, a friend of mine says Carthay Circle Theatre has the best "rides," aka drinks for grown-ups.
Crimson Car Trolley (Practice IT)
The Red Automobile Trolley ride only takes you from the park entrance to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and back but information technology's fun if only for the narrating trolley drivers. If you don't take a inkling what's going on or you lot'd like a lilliputian back story on the park, leap on for a stop or two.
A Bug'S State (Do IT)
What I dear almost Bug's Land (aka Flicks Fun Fair ) is that most of these rides children can keep by themselves (parents watching vigilantly from the sidelines of course). This brings a lot of pride to the "I do information technology myself" set.
Flik's Flyers (DO It)
Flik's Flyers is just another carnival ride similar Dense's Flying Elephants but colorful and cute.
Francis' Ladybug Boogie (DO Information technology, for younger kids)
Francis' Ladybug Boogie is basically a slower version of the Mad Tea Cups ride at Disneyland Park. But unlike the teacups, you can't turn the heart wheel to turn faster. Leaning will get y'all much more motility, which is not all that much. Fun for little kids.
Heimlich's Chew Chew Train (DO IT)
Super tedious train ride merely worth it for the funny narration and special scent furnishings.
Information technology's Tough to be a Issues! (DO Information technology)
Information technology'due south Tough to be a Bug! is basically a 3-D flick with some creepy-crawly special event surprises. Hold your little ones close if they take whatever major bug aversions.
Princess Dot Pool Park (DO It)
Visit the Princess Dot Pool Park, particularly if it'due south a hot day. Who doesn't love a fun drip drop fountain? Bring extra clothes to alter into though.
Constrict and Roll'due south Drive'Em Buggies (SKIP IT)
Cars are much, muuuuuuch slower than normal bumper cars. Skip this unless you are trying to kill daylight.
HOLLYWOOD Land
Disney'due south Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular (MUST Practise)
Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular is fabulous. Hilarious. Perfect for middle of the day while it'due south hot. Impressive production! Genie is always funny. E'er different and current.
Disney Junior: Live on Stage (Do IT, for very immature kids)
Disney Inferior: Live on Stage is skillful for the younger set simply anyone older than four will probably desire to skip it.
Muppet*Vision 3D (Practise IT)
Muppet*Vision 3D is totally beautiful 3D motion picture. The new character is annoying only muppets are mannerly.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! (SKIP It)
A must if yous loved the movie. If you haven't seen Monster'due south Inc. then you could probably skip it. Fun interactive bit at the end.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Practise IT, for older kids though)
Thrill seekers love The Belfry of Terror. Make sure you Fastpass it though because lines become very long. Large drops, big thrills. Teenagers and adults volition dearest this ride. Skip information technology for petty ones.
Mad T Party (DO It, for teenagers)
The Mad T Political party is kind of an acid-trip, club-like scene for teenagers. Great for dancing and sporting your latest glow-in-the-nighttime fashion.
Disney Animation University (Practise IT)
These series of buildings are a must for anyone interested in animation. Don't miss Turtle Talk with Crush! Great for middle of the day when you are waiting to do something else. The music solitary will put you in the Disney mood.
CARS LAND
Luigi's Flying Tires (Practice IT)
Luigi'south Flight Tires ride is surprisingly driven past air. Kind of like air hockey meets bumper cars but with way less movement. It'south non fast and you can't really get much speed going simply the novelty alone makes information technology fun. Added plus: heed for Tony Shalhoub (Monk) singing old Italian-American standards!
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree (DO IT)
Surprisingly Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is fun carnival-type, whip-you-around ride. Of course Mater's charming personality is always a win.
Radiator Springs Racers (MUST Practice)
You lot can't skip this ride. Radiator Springs Racers is fun, dark and gets a good bit of speed going in the cease. Get in that location early on and Fastpass though because lines go long quick!
CONDOR FLATS
Soarin' Over California (Practise Information technology)
I really idea I would say skip Soarin' Over California because my sixteen-year-old self idea information technology was lame merely after visiting it once more afterward a long interruption, I institute it fun and refreshing. A not bad manner to absurd off be literally swept off your feet. If you can ignore the dirt on the screen and forget that your are but watching a giant movie, you will feel like y'all really are flight.
GRIZZLY Height
Grizzly River Run (MUST DO)
Super fun, don't miss the Grizzly River Run! This is a white water tubing ride and there is no track. That means you actually never know who is going to become wet. Pack extra clothes and store them in a locker. Yous too might want to Fastpass this one because it's very pop on hot days.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and Wilderness Explorer Army camp (DO IT)
The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and Wilderness Explorer Military camp playground is a favorite for my picayune explorer. Lots to do and information technology's only challenging enough. Tag along and become some exercise or if y'all feel comfy letting your children out of sight, let them play and sit and take a sabbatical in the faux mountain air. Plan on at least spending xx-xxx minutes hither.
PACIFIC WHARF
Not a lot going on in this part of the park, merely it is fun to pose in the 7 1/ii Tons of fishnet near the wharf and do a little duck-watching from the pier.
Boudin Bakery Bout and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Store (SKIP It)
Skip them unless you have a hankering.
PARADISE PIER
California Screamin' (MUST DO for thrill seekers)
It'south not chosen the California Screamin' for null. If y'all similar roller coasters you'll love information technology for the speed, drops, quick turns and all-time of all the length (2.5 whole minutes!) simply if you don't, you'll hate information technology. Not really for kids unless they are 18-carat thrill seekers. I tried to force my coaster-phobic girl to go along this ride and a Disney employee intervened and advised me not to. I figure if employees don't even allow little kids on it so maybe that's a expert measure of how fun and scary this ride really is.
Golden Zephyr (SKIP IT)
The Gilded Zephyr is just another flying carnival ride. Pretty to expect at just not much else.
Goofy's Sky Schoolhouse (DO IT, for younger kids)
What can I say? The Goofy's Sky School ride is goofy. Perchance fifty-fifty a goofy waste of time. I'chiliad non a huge fan of pocket-sized coasters mostly considering they rattle my brains and give me whiplash but kids get a kick out of coasters that are but their size.
Jumpin' Jellyfish (SKIP IT)
Jumpin' Jellyfish is nice for views just not much else.
Rex Triton's Carousel of the Ocean (DO IT)
King Triton's Carousel of the Body of water is just another carousel only with sea animals then it's kinda cute.
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure (SKIP IT, DO the Grotto)
Ariel's Undersea Adventure is a nice slow, cool ride for little kids, telling the Ariel story but not much else. I say skip this and have dejeuner at Ariel's Grotto instead.
Mickey'southward Fun Wheel (MUST DO)
Mickey's Fun Wheel is a must for the view! If you don't want to become motion sickness opt for the not-swinging cars.
Silly Symphony Swings (DO IT)
Practice this the Light-headed Symphony Swings. Yes, it'south simply another carnival ride but the views are great and there is zilch better than swinging your legs freely in the air on a beautiful Southern California day. Close your eyes and wing!
Toy Story Midway Mania! (MUST Practise)
Don't miss Toy Story Midway Mania! This crazy interactive shooting gallery is very entertaining. Lots of special furnishings and fun for all ages. The wait tin be long and the waiting area can get hot so do this ride early in the morning.
Earth of Color (Do It)
You'll be tempted to leave early and skip the World of Color simply if you take the energy, go out the park (escape for a nap in your hotel or visit some Downtown Disney shops or restaurants) and come up back for this. Only make certain yous become a Fastpass before you leave to insure a adept viewing spot. If you don't get a expert place to sit only skip information technology.
